Online Documentation for SQL Administrator for SQL Server
Maintenance Plan Editor
Maintenance Plan Editor allows you to specify the properties of a maintenance plan and its subplans.
To open a maintenance plan in the Maintenance Plan Editor, double-click it in the maintenance plan list or in the maintenance plan history, or right-click the maintenance plan alias and select the Edit Maintenance Plan context menu item.
Note: To create a maintenance plan you need to run SQL Server Agent service on the server. Also make sure that the SQL Server Integration Services is installed on your computer - maintenance plans cannot be created or edited without it. In this case maintenance plans are opened in the Editor in the read-only mode.
The list of Maintenance Plan Editor tabs is displayed on the navigation bar:
- Setting general options
- Managing tasks
- Adding connections
- Managing schedules
- Setting reporting options
- Viewing maintenance plan history
