Setting backup media options

At this step you can set a number of options pertaining to the new or existing media.

Back up to an existing backup media

Append to media / Overwrite media

Select whether the media should be appended or overwritten during the backup operation. By appending another backup set to existing media, the previous contents of the media remain intact, and the new backup is written after the end of the last backup on the media.

Check media name and abort if it doesn't match

If the option is selected, the media name will be first checked whether it matches media set name.

Media set name

Enter the name of the media.

Back up to a new backup media

Check this option to create a new media set to store backups. In this case the backup operation will write a new media header on all media volumes used for the backup operation. The existing contents of the volume become invalid, because any existing media header and backup sets are overwritten.

Media set name

Enter a name for a new media set.

Media set description

Enter any optional text to describe a new media set.

Click the Next button to proceed to the Setting backup options step of the wizard.
