Online Documentation for SQL Administrator for SQL Server
Failed backups
The upper area of this window shows backup maintenance plans that have failed during their execution.
The lower area provides information about steps of the selected task.
Use the context menu or buttons on the work area toolbar to manage the list of backups:
create a new maintenance plan
create a database backup
edit selected maintenance plan/job
execute selected subplan/job
create and print the report
The list in the Maintenance Plan/Job History area displays failed backups as a grid with the following columns: Run Date, Database, Run Status, Logged Remotely, Server, Plan/Job Name, Subplan Name, Backup Task/Step, Duration. See the Working with grid section of the SQL Administrator documentation to find out operations that can be performed with the grid.
All these maintenance plans have the Run Status value "Failed". In the lower grid you can explore the particular step on which the execution plan has failed.
When you choose a particular maintenance plan the Task/Step History area displays the following detailed information about the subplanned tasks: Run Date, Task/Step Name, Duration, Server, Command, Message.
If you select the step with the Run Status value 'Failed' then in the lower area you will see the message informing about the reason of the occurred mistake.
