Restore database
Restore Database Wizard allows you to perform the database restore operation on your SQL Server system (the RESTORE DATABASE Transact-SQL statement is issued).
This operation is used to rebuild a damaged or corrupted database that has been backed up using Backup Database Wizard. You can restore an entire database, part of a database, specific files and filegroups, transaction logs.
To run the wizard, select the Tools | Restore Database... main menu item or click Restore Database... button on the toolbar.
The wizard consists of the following steps:
- Selecting server and setting restore type
- Setting database
- Specifying point in time
- Selecting backup set to restore
- Selecting files and filegroups to restore
- Setting restore options
- Setting recovery options
- Running database restore
