Statistics Collector
Statistics Collector service is used to collect statistics of the system and SQL Server productivity.
To open the Statistics Collector State dialog choose Tools | Statistics Collector State... main menu item or
double-click the Statistics Collector State label situated in the right-bottom corner of the program window.
This dialog allows you to Install/Uninstall or to Start/Stop the service.
Statistics Collector service state
This field displays the information about the current statistics collector state. To refresh the status click the Refresh button.
To install the Statistics Collector service click the Install Service button. In the window appeared specify the service options.
SQL Administrator repository connection properties
Repository server and Repository database fields display the information set when configuring SQL Administrator Repository.
Specify the type of Microsoft® SQL Server™ authentication to be used for the repository connection: Windows authentication or SQL Server authentication.
Windows Authentication
SQL Administrator identifies user by his domain name and password which are defined automatically according to his Windows domain user account.
Note: When using windows authentication connection to the repository server or to the collected servers, this account should have permissions to connect to server.
SQL Server authentication
SQL Administrator identifies user by his server login and password. Login and password management is accomplished by Login Manager.
If SQL Server authentication is selected as the authentication type, you should provide authorization settings: Login and Password. Analyzing them a system determines information and therefore object access permissions.
Service login
Local system
The Local system account is a predefined local account used by the service control manager. This type of the service login can be selected only if the type of connection to the repository server was set to SQL Server authentication.
This account
If you select this option then the service will be run under the specified domain user account.
User name
Type in the name of the account under which the service should run. Use an account name in the form DomainName\UserName. The service process will be logged on as this user.
Password
Enter the password for the user name.
